Blow off Dump valve for Clio IV 1.6 Turbo RS 200CV
FORGE blow off Dump valve for RENAULT Clio IV RS 200CV
Dump valve (intercooler mount).
What is a dump valve for and how does it work?
The dump valve or "blow-off valve" is a component used to control over-fuelling.
When your turbo is turning at high speed and boosting the fuel supply, it cannot stop or even slow down very quickly because the intake system is still full of pressurised air.
Since the pressure has nowhere to go, the only path available is to try and flow back the way it came, turning the wheel in the opposite direction, which causes a pressure surge that can harm the compressor.
The dump valve is fitted to the inlet pipe and contains a spring diaphragm or a piston which moves up when it detects an increase in pressure.
As soon as air is released within a matter of seconds, you will have made your gear change and the boost takes over again, pretty much without interruption!
