NGK Racing spark plug part number R7434-9 for MITSUBISHI Lancer 2.0 16V Turbo (Evo 7 & Evo 8) Gr. N
Choose the right spark plug according to the design of the electrode, the temperature of the spark plug, the level of preparation of your engine and the racing conditions.
Spark plugs with a high temperature rating have higher cooling capacities.
NGK racing spark plugs have been developed for use in engines that have been modified. They enable maximum power to be achieved under specific external conditions, especially at high ambient temperatures.
NGK racing plugs differ from standard plugs in appearance and performance. They sacrifice service life and performance at low rpm in favour of high rpm.
How to choose your NGK racing spark plug
1. Spark plug design: To determine the design of the spark plug, consult your vehicle manual or the specifications of the spark plugs you are using to check: thread, diameter, length and characteristics of the spark plug washer.
2. The design of the spark plug electrode: The longer the electrode, the better the spark and ignition of the mixture in the cylinder. Longer electrodes are more prone to wear. The heat and vibration stresses on racing engines are the reason why it is advisable to choose an electrode design that reduces its wear risk.
Projected type
Almost similar to the electrode of a standard spark plug, these plugs give good overall performance for lightly modified and naturally aspirated engines as well as for turbocharged engines for low and mid-range torque.
Square ground type
This type of electrode provides superior performance for turbo engines. The short electrode is much more resistant to the impact of the explosion.
Half surface type
This is the ultimate spark plug configuration. Virtually all ground electrode cracks and positive electrode melting problems are avoided with this type of plug. The life and performance at low engine speeds are reduced.
3. 3. Spark plug temperature: It is very important to choose a temperature rating that keeps the electrode at an ideal operating temperature even in extreme racing conditions. A high temperature rating does not provide better performance, it simply improves the ability of the spark plug to dissipate heat.
4. Resistors: Due to the automatic ignition timing systems, there are differences in performance between spark plugs with and without resistors. Therefore, some engines require resistor spark plugs to avoid engine problems.
Spark plug characteristics :
Suitable for :
- MITSUBISHI Lancer 2.0 16V Turbo (Evo 7 & 8) Gr. N
- RENAULT Clio II 2.0 16V RS Gr. A
- RENAULT Clio II 3.0 V6 Trophy Circuit
We advise you to check the compatibility of this spark plug with your vehicle.
