Iridium IX NGK spark plugs are the most technically mature spark plugs on the market.
They have a fine Iridium tip on the center electrode, which is laser-welded using a special process.

Iridium is a precious metal and one of the strongest materials in the world.
It begins to melt from 2450°C and is particularly resistant to electrical erosion created by sparks.

The service life of an Iridium spark plug is 2.5 times longer than that of a standard spark plug.
