Our vehicles need the right engine oil to perform at their best. It's an essential part of your car's performance and there are several types. It is therefore important to choose the right oil for the right vehicle. Here we present you with the rules for making the right choice and give you an overview of the YACCO motor oils we offer in our catalogue.

The importance of buying quality motor oil for your vehicle

Engine oil is a lubricant for the mechanical parts found in the engine. It prevents the engine from overheating by limiting the friction of the various mechanical parts in the engine. It also ensures efficient cooling of the engine and prevents premature wear of its components. Finally, oil helps keep your engine clean. Given the importance of its role, you may be wondering how to choose your engine oil. It is necessary to use the right product to protect your car from unpleasant surprises.

In order to perform its functions fully, the engine oil must be changed (drained) at a specific frequency according to the manufacturer's instructions. Defective oil or oil that has already lasted too long can easily damage your engine, sometimes irreversibly. In order to guarantee the safety and durability of your engine, we offer you quality YACCO engine oils for every type of vehicle.

Criteria for choosing your YACCO engine oil

You may have chosen your car because you like it, but there are some factors to consider when choosing your motor oil. There are two main criteria you should consider when choosing the right YACCO motor oil for your vehicle. But first, make sure that your car does not require a particular oil mentioned by the manufacturer.

The type of driving

For more sporty driving, a YACCO synthetic oil is an excellent choice. Our synthetic oils have the advantage of being more refined and full of additives, which guarantees optimal lubrication performance.

However, if you use your car periodically for short journeys, then a YACCO semi-synthetic motor oil is more suitable for you. You can obtain our high quality semi-synthetic oils, which consist of a mixture of mineral and synthetic oils.

In the case of mixed driving, YACCO mineral oil is the ideal option. And you will certainly be pleased to know that our mineral oils are made exclusively from crude oil. However, you should know that this type of oil is not suitable for recent engines (built after 2000) and those with a turbo. To avoid unpleasant surprises, you can simply opt for synthetic oils that are suitable for several types of recent engines.

Viscosity

The viscosity of an oil indicates its ability to flow. Each YACCO oil can is marked with a viscosity index which consists of two numbers or digits separated by the letter W. The first number indicates the cold flowability and the second number indicates the hot flowability. The lower the first number, the more fluid the oil will be at low temperatures. The higher the second number, the more fluid the oil will be at higher temperatures.

A YACCO Galaxie 5W40 oil, for example, means that the oil will remain fluid at outside temperatures of around zero to 5°. The same oil will also remain fluid at temperatures above 30°. On the other hand, you can choose a higher first number if you stay in a warm region. The ambient temperature is higher.

A lower first number saves fuel and significantly reduces friction when hot. The oil will not become thick by the time the engine warms up. However, with a high number, the oil is more protective and provides more sealing for the engine.

You now have all the information you need to choose your YACCO engine oil. If necessary, you can ask your mechanic for advice. You can also refer to your engine manufacturer's information sheet to find out which oil is best suited to your engine.

The YACCO motor oils we offer

Among the brands that trust us, there is YACCO which offers a wide range of motor oils. You have different types (mineral, synthetic and semi-synthetic multigrade and monograde) with viscosity indications.

We also have oils for petrol engines, diesel engines and both types of engine. If you take into account the information given above, you will now know which oil to adopt and how often to change it according to the type chosen, in order to benefit from its long-term advantages.

In addition, we allow you to have the best engine oil depending on whether your vehicle is a racing car (YACCO Galaxie 5W30, GT 5W50, etc.), a collector's vehicle (YACCO Légende ricin 2L, 15W50, etc.), a racing car, etc. There is no doubt about the quality of these oils, as they come directly from a manufacturer known worldwide for the reliability of its products.
