Why install a dump valve ?
A dump valve, or a blow off valve, helps prevents compressor surges by allowing compressed air in the manifold to vent even when the throttle is closed. This helps reduce wear on the turbocharger and on the compressor. The release of the compressed aire by the dump valve creates a marked hissing sound.
