What is the purpose of a master cylinder?
Located just after the brake pedal, the master cylinder is the part that controls the amount of brake fluid sent to the entire braking system according to the rider's pedal pressure. By sending a greater or lesser quantity of brake fluid and by regulating its pressure, it will indicate to the calipers the force with which they must tighten to press the pads against the discs and cause the car to slow down.
