CARTEK circuit breakers are designed to perform two functions in accordance with FIA regulations: to stop the engine and to disconnect the battery from all electrical systems. To do this, they first cut the power to the ECU or ignition circuit, causing the engine to stop and the alternator/generator to stop producing power. They then disconnect the negative side of the battery from the chassis/ground, isolating the battery from all the vehicle's electrical systems. With built-in load shedding protection, no additional components are required. Operating voltage: 7V to 18V. Current consumption: 7mA (OFF) and 50mA (ON).

What are the different models of CARTEK electrical circuit breakers?
All CARTEK circuit breakers are fully electronic, with no moving parts, and hermetically sealed for optimum protection against water and dirt. Designed to withstand shock and vibration, they incorporate an alternator de-priming circuit and allow direct actuation via a single ON - OFF switch or external buttons. Their thin, lightweight wiring (70g to 120g) makes them easy to install, and mounting them close to the battery reduces the length of the connections. FIA compliant, they are designed and manufactured in the UK using the latest generation of high quality components.
4 models are available:
GT Model: Suitable for almost all racing and rally car applications. Incorporates 600A battery isolation, and a fully protected 30A power output for connection to the ECU, ignition system or power supply.
XR model: Smaller and lighter than the GT unit, it is designed specifically to connect to ECU modules (PDM or PCM). Supplied with a sealed connection wire.
X-Pro model: Designed to handle the high starting currents of large-displacement, high-power racing motors. Configurable motor cut-off output (5A - 20A selectable). Signal connections via a sealed DT Deutsch connector.
X-Club model: Suitable for medium-powered cars and engines up to 3.0L V6, turbo or NA. Ideal for single-brand championships with production engines, e.g. Audi TT, Civic Type R, MX5, Clio, Mini, etc. Fully protected 10A power output for connection to ignition coils, engine relay or ECU/PDM input
