This sensor is designed to measure rotational movement and angular speed, such as the steering wheel angle and steering speed. It uses the giant magnetoresistive (GMR) effect for precise measurements. Absolute angle detection is achieved using measuring gear wheels with variable ratios, including small magnets. GMR elements, which change their electrical resistance based on the direction of the magnetic field, detect the position of the gear wheels. The measured voltages are then converted into digital signals by A/D conversion, and a microcontroller calculates the angle. The steering angle and steering speed are transmitted via a CAN interface for integration and analysis.
